Review of Jackie (2016) by Dan A — 23 Jan 2017
JACKIE stars Natalie Portman as an exceedingly well dressed funeral planner in 60's America. As a single mother, she has to balance raising her kids while striving to be an independent professional woman. There's also the small issue of the hunky man in her life!
In all seriousness, it's okay, but limited. As someone who has always been interested in this period of history, JFK and the cold war in general, I enjoyed the film as a whole but it also didn't feel very inclusive to people who may not be as well-read as me. Portman is very good, it's all shot beautifully and I loved the music, though.
