Review of Jack Goes Boating (2010) by Sol C — 17 Sep 2011
The film was ok. It kind of felt like a play than a film. There are some great moments in the movie. The tone of the film is a little off. I thought Philip Seymour Hoffman was ok in the lead role, but I felt like I have seen him play that type of character before in other films.
John Ortiz, Amy Ryan, and Daphne Rubin Vega provide solid supporting work here. The pacing is also off. I do recommend the film especially for the performances.
