Review of I've Loved You So Long (2008) by Dan B — 03 Mar 2009
Compelling French drama dealing with loss, guilt, forgiveness and imprisonment (both actual and figurative). Dominated by Scott Thomas' haunted lead, but there is an equally fine and brittle performance from Elsa Zylberstein as the younger sister.
Maybe becomes a bit obvious in the later stages and arguably pulls its punches, so the end result is a little like a superior TV drama, which in itself is not necessarily a bad thing. You wouldn't be wasting your time.
