Review of I've Loved You So Long (2008) by Pam P — 03 May 2009
This is a well acted movie. What I like about European movies is they'll take an actress like Kristin Scott Thomas and not only let her act the part of a very depressed woman, but will have her look the part as well.
It shows the gradual steps she takes as she acclimates to living with her much younger sister's family after spending 15 years in prison. It's subtle, quiet, gray. Some have commented on the end being too tidy and lacking in believability, but that's such a small part of the movie.
It's the journey to the end that makes this movie interesting to watch.
