Review of It's a Wonderful Life (1946) by Stephen D — 19 Oct 2012
Wonderfully thought-provoking and wonderfully directed, It's a Wonderful Life is lovely; Capra directs with such simplicity that's it's hard not to love this instant Hollywood classic. James Stuart's performance is depressing - (in a good way) - and also joyful during the end scenes - but Donna Reed is captivating and so is Lionel Barrymore's tough-as-nails character's persona.
Henry Travers is amusing too as the comically clumsy angel Clarence. A must-see Christmas classic.
