Review of Italian for Beginners (2000) by Andrea H — 21 Jun 2008
Saw this for the second time - had forgotten I'd already seen it! Interpret that however you will... but this is an innovative film that tugs at your heartstrings. The absence of flashy sets or showy camera angles forces you to focus on what's important - the characters & their dialogue.
A direct window into the pains and joys of human beings, and I'd say a good one at that! Makes me want to take up Italian and go to Venice myself ;).
