Review of It Comes at Night (2017) by Wael — 03 Jun 2018
A very well-made film deserving its classification in the horror genre: it has some scary parts and imagery, and it never ceases to be constantly creepy. The cinematography and the direction add an element of suspense and anxiety, and the performances (Joel Edgerton's) are beautiful.
Even though we are never fully treated to the cause/history of the disease, or what it is even that comes at night, the plotline focuses on human instincts, and how much people are willing to go for their family to survive.
A very stressful one-hour-and-a-half film, "It Comes at Night" comes to a beautifully thought-out conclusion, and definitely makes up for a nice addition in the horror catalog.
