'It' succeeds in many departments. The kid characters are fantastic and have great chemistry, the eerie settings and occupants of the town all have a creepy vibe to them, the soundtrack is fantastic and Pennywise the Clown is psychologically and physically terrifying.
Although there is sometimes a reliance on jump-scares, a touch of overacting and some of characters aren't as developed as others, 'It' still excels in all other departments.
