Review of Ip Man (2008) by James K — 24 May 2011
It saddens me to admit that as I've grown older my affinity for Kung Fu films has withered. All the pretty choreography and impressive stuntwork in the East can't make sitting through a brain-bashing story about the village elephant being stolen palatable any more.
Here, then, its a relief that the story isn't on a five year old level. It's no Crouching Tiger either, by any means, but you can marvel at the exquisite fightwork without feeling too guilty.
