Review of Invincible (2013) by Scott W — 30 Mar 2008
For me, it's hard to go wrong with an inspirational sports movie. Unfortunately, Invincible does just that. This whole thing feels off - the pace and tone I think are both not appropriate for the type of movie.
There are too many scenes of picketing workers and shots of Papale's sulking friends in the bar, and yet we still can't tell anything about these characters. The football story is not even told that well to the point where you are rooting for him to succeed (it's also harder to root for an Eagle).
And then it just abruptly ends. I can name countless sports movies that are much better than this one - a big disappointment.
