Mark Wahlberg is a bartender. His girlfriend left him, he is struggling to figure out what to do with his life with financial issues. The Eagles stink, so they are doing tryouts, so he goes and makes the team.

The film shows how he went from not likely to make the team to being on the final roster and playing on special teams. I feel the film ends a little early just as it is getting going, but the story is good and heartwarming.
