Review of Into the Wild (2007) by Stephen S — 08 Jan 2015
Solid movie that tells a great story. This is one of the more interesting films I've seen in my life. Its storytelling knows how to keep your attention held throughout the film. I wouldn't quite say it's "life-changing" like many people would have you believe, although I can understand how some people could see it that way.
Whatever works for you I guess. The only thing that I feel really hurts this film is its lengthy duration, and its pacing, which can be poor at times. I haven't read the book, so I can't say for sure that it's the screenplay writer's fault or anything, but the pace could be far better.
I also don't like how the film jumps around so much...the time difference really confuses the hell out of the viewer. Again, I haven't read the book, so I don't know how it is, but there were a few things that could've been done better here.
Aside from that though, it's a very good film.
