Review of Into the Wild (2007) by Jason W — 03 Jun 2018
A wonderfully made movie that places materialism in modern society side by side with man's dependence on others. Sean Penn has the whole of America's West Coast to play with, and as a result, has produced some breathtaking shots.
While the storyline can sometimes feel to be too long and slow, that only allows you more time to digest the ideas and themes the film raises. A touching, beautiful and evocative story aided with great cinematography.
It'll be a long time before we see anything as powerful as this again.
