The acting was very believable in a world that has been stricken without power, however everything else was frustrating to watch as a viewer. I didn't read the book but why the hell would you burn your only shelter just because of a small hole in the roof.
If you can gut a pig then you sure as shit can nail some boards on the roof and fix that god damn problem.
