"Instant Family" is a textbook feel-good movie, and that is completely okay. If you want to watch a movie that is lighthearted and will make you happy, this one is a solid choice. The story is not a particularly new one and the themes have been done before, but the movie still manages to resonate due to the good performance, sweet story, and positive messages.
I think this movie is one that has a good amount of humor and has dramatic moments that feel fairly grounded in reality. It's one of those movies that delivers exactly what this sort of premise promises.
The movie isn't life-changing, but it made me smile and kept me entertained.
