“The best thing about being keen on movies is the fact that sometimes, despite some dreadful titles, non-convincing actors and a confusing plot, they turn out to be a wonderful heart-warming flick, like this one”.

Considering that most of the characters involved performed some immature roles as Rose Byrne in Neighbours (2014) or Mark Wahlberg in Daddy’s Home (2015) I did not have high expectations, therefore I condemned the movie. It seemed the very beginning I was right because I saw the prototypical sense of humour that nowadays-comedies are accustomed to doing. Afterwards, everything changed completely because the plot of having an adopted family was becoming notorious and suddenly it looked innovative and whole-hearted at many times, it’s a theme I have not seen for a while. From then on, I gave it a little chance and unexpectedly, as the movie went by, my hopes were suddenly all-grown. This is an example of how awesome the flick was. To begin with, both Byrne and Wahlberg, showed a great facet of themselves as actors because finally I was able to watch a movie were they meant to be the example for the kids, where they took awareness of the implications and complications that implies being parents and some crisis moments where they motivate their kids and look forward for some support. As the movie is developed, you will notice the importance of a family and to what extent does it influence to the kiddos. The movie takes its time to interact not only with each single character but the audience too, for example there are some moments where the silence prolongs itself to create a moment of reflection or emotion. This movie demonstrates the capability of producing a good movie without falling on ambiguities, this is an example of how with detention, quality is provided.

Just a little flaw, the movie sometimes presents the cliché gags when hitting someone or humiliating someone in order to bring the humour.
