Review of Insidious (2011) by Michael M — 05 Aug 2015
One of the better ghost stories to come out in years. Balances itself between classical and modern horror while avoiding many of the genre cliches. At times, the camera subtly hovers around its family like a haunting voyeur.
Most surprisingly, it slowly shifts from a traditional ghost story to a fantasy adventure with tinges of horror and it works. The climax is worthy of the build-up and takes us where no ghost story has gone before.
