Review of Inside Out (2015) by Matthew L — 10 Jun 2018
Out side several moments that test one's suspension of disbelief (both in and outside Riley's brain) and some small plot holes, this movie serves as a tribute to what Pixar does best: play with your emotions, and leave it to a movie that is straight up about emotions to play the audience's emotions like Yo Yo Ma with a cello.
Perhaps it is just my own similar experience to Riley's with moving to a place you don't want to, but this movie gets one to perfectly understand Riley. One feels the anger, disgust, fear, and that sort of happy sadness we feel at the end of every Pixar movie that makes us all weep like we're at a funeral.
The story is fun, entertaining, well paced and gets across exactly what it needs to. The voice actors also do an excellent job to give us one of Pixar's finest creations yet.
