Review of Inner Senses (2002) by Tobias L — 26 Oct 2006
Clever little Chinese ghost story with quite a few scares and also a heart. The film at times does swing into "pretentious territory" yet there is denying it does have a heart and is made with a sense of honesty. This film does not focus on senseless gore, but rather is one of those ghost stories, which keep you watching. It isn't that scary, but it still manages some effective moments.
Well-directed and well written, this makes it a very under-rated movie, even if itsn't great by any means. Also, I was told it was Leslie Cheung's final movie before his untimely death.
