Review of In the Valley of Elah (2007) by Tobias L — 17 Jan 2009
Really good film. Tommy Lee Jones gives a knock out performance as a father in search of his missing son. I totally understand why he was nominated last year for the best actor oscar for this film. He deserved being nominated.
Susan Sarandon is also good in the film, playing Jones's wife. Well acted, by this ensemble cast. The film kind of reminded me of Courage Under Fire starring Denzel Washington. The only negative is that I thought Charlize Theron was miscast as the detective trying to help him.
I think Ashley Judd would have done better in Charlize's role. Definitely worth seeing, especially cause of Tommy Lee's performance.
