Review of Inner Senses (2002) by Jennifer O — 30 Apr 2004
SESSION 9--9/10. I finally opened my DVD up and saw this movie again. The DVd doesn't have any subtitles on it, but the TV does so it's okay. Saw the deleted scenes and I am SO glad they removed the subplot about the old homeless woman.
ALL OF ME--7/10, may be an 8. Not sure yet. Paid less than $7 for this DVD and it shows. Fullscreen and shitty sound. Still damned funny.
GODDAMMIT ALL TO HELL!
EDITED TO ADD: I WROTE THE ABOVE CURSE OUT OF FRUSTRATION! RT WAS DOWN AND NOTHING WAS SHOWING UP HERE. I'M GLAD I DIDN'T CONFESS TO ANY NEFARIOUS ACTS! :D.
DAGON--I gave it a 2 and I think that was generous. I know that it's a low budget film, but it was awful.
GOTHIKA--what a piece of crap. Where are the scares? Where's the story? Where's the buildup? Well, they ain't in here, that's for damned sure. I got really tired of seeing Halle trying to give herself whiplash by moving her head so damned much, too. Yes, please, let's have more scenes of her running and spinning her head around to see if anyone's behind her. Please? What a crap actress. Really.
INNER SENSES--not as good as some of the other ghost stories I've seen. There are a few scares, but this seems like 2 films in one. Just really slow, and boring for most of its 90 minutes. Some nice scares and gore at the end but it was too late to save the film for me. Barely a recommend.
