Independence Day it's one of my all time favorite films of all time. Now, ID: Resurgence it's just OK. The emotions, the thrill and the excitement from the original are not in the sequel. Yes it has a great cast, amazing visuals, but the story from the first to this one doesn't make sense.
There was a lot from the the first movie that was left hanging in the sequel.
