Review of Independence Day: Resurgence (2016) by Jamie C — 03 Jan 2018

Another sequel to an all time classic that we all expected but never really asked for, The film itself is good, Action packed with great effects but maybe it's too much of an effects spectacle that looks amazing but misses something else, The script was pretty poor as some cheesy lines mixed with some bad acting from the supporting cast didn't help the film at all, Maybe Will Smith would of been a nice welcome as I never really cared for the new cast at all, It had some great air battles but just like the first I wanted some battles on the ground to get that old fashioned alien invasion feel, I can't comment on the 3D as I watched the 2D version but I think the 3D wouldn't be necessary, The story was a good way to follow on but I didn't like how advanced earth's defences got as it made the underdog story not feel as great as the first, It's slightly better than Critics say but it's not as good as the first in literally most ways apart from the effects.
