Not as horrible as its made out to be, if you're a fan of the original there's some good stuff here but overall it lacks the "fun" of the first movie (and no Randy Quaid, of course). More damning, however, is the "big" special effects sequences are just "blah"; uninspired and no "wow" factor like the Capitol building from ID4.

Emmerich tried to out-do the destruction of 2012 but you can barely tell what's going on during the destruction of London. Time to get back to basics, blow some models up again instead of overboard CGI.
