Review of Independence Day: Resurgence (2016) by Omar L — 02 Aug 2016
This was a terrible movie for so many reasons, but the story is probably the worst part of it. It seemed to have been cobbled together at the last minute with absolutely no sense of the world that it had built 20 years ago.
Independence Day was one of my favorite movie-going experiences in 1996, because the simplicity of the story, the epitome of three-act storytelling, the memorable performances, and, of course, effects and destruction that had never been seen before.
This movie featured none of that. Instead it featured some of the worst acting with some of the worst dialogue in one of the worst stories told in the worst possible way. Worst movie of 2016.
