Review of Independence Day (1996) by Frankie T — 07 Jul 2015
Fourth of July has a new meaning and that meaning is that aliens are gonna come down to earth and kill and blow crap up and if you wanna find the meaning of life your not gonna get it all your gonna get here is will smith being awesome this was the highest grossing film of 1996 and a really good sci-fi film this movie is one of Roland Emmerich's good films the others being the day after tomorrow and zilla (1998 Godzilla remake) and as well in my opinion one of the best science fiction films of the 90's and it's funny to cause a year later in 1997 will smith also starred in men in black and it's 2002 sequel men in black 2 and the 2012 sequel men in black 3.
I feel as if Roland looked at his other film's like 1994's star gate and was like okay I see what i'm doing here I gotta make more alien sci-fi films and make will smith star in it and have him be awesome and say cool lines even when no one is around to hear them.
out of all of Roland emmerich's only 3 good films' this one just might be his best 5/5 and plus I know he is making a sequel in 2016 next year it's gonna be called independence day: resurgence why he waited 20 years to make a 2nd one I have no idea although if anything it's probably because this film is 2 intense for all audiences' to handle and for those who watched it they were all like whoa that was more intense than I expected seeing will smith being a complete macho man to complete idiot in MIB.
the end.
