Review of Incredibles 2 (2018) by Quinton K — 19 Jun 2018
Two words: Jack-Jack. He brought the innocence of a baby and had the audience rolling on the floor. It was amazing to see all his powers and the other characters reacted. One of my favorite Pixar scenes of all time was the exchange between Jack-Jack and Edna.
In addition to Jack-Jack there was a ton of through out. The twist in the movie wasn't really a twist as it could be seen coming after the first 15 minutes. However it felt like Pixar knew this and masterfully added extra dynamics and smaller twists that we weren't expecting.
I really only had one problem with the film. I understand trying to pull off the feel of a 1960s crime, yet modern film, but I thought the conversation between Evelyn and Elastigirl about perspectives on life wasn't necessary to the plot or the characters' relationships.
Other than that one scene I thought all the new characters and heroes were interesting and aided the movie. The film lives up to its name masterfully.
