Review of Incredibles 2 (2018) by Benjamin N — 02 Jan 2019

It looks absolutely fantastic and the action scenes are spectacularly done (there are a decent amount of them, too), but even though it nails these two important aspects of a superhero film making it pretty exciting at times, it's somewhat let down by the story.

Not only is it predictable (with the villain being particularly weakly written), but it's clear that they've jumped on the bandwagon and are touting an obvious, in-your-face feminist message that makes you groan and can only serve to alienate males.

It doesn't completely ruin the film - there's still a lot to like -- and it ends up being decent, family-friendly fun, but it certainly puts a dampener on things.
