After the undeniable triumph of the first film, I can't entirely wrap my head around why the sequel let me down so much. The animation is flawless, the production design spot on, the action sequences soar.
The soundtrack is already maybe a bit too much on the nose, with its catchy 60s agent fanfares. The real problem is the plot, though. It's just not particularly interesting, nor is the villain reveal very surprising.
The biggest problem is, that I did not get the impression the movie likes superheroes all that much.
