Review of Incendies (2010) by Ami B — 04 Jul 2011
An interesting drama that suffers damagingly from a confused narrative and poor editing. Though there are moments of great tension and emotional impact, Incendies does not sustain such greatness outside of a few sparse sequences, largely due to the muddled plotting which regularly jumps through time with little exposition.
As such I found myself confused as to which character I was watching, and what era they were in, an issue that consequently prevented me from fully appreciating the complexity of the characters or the great efforts of the cast.
