Review of In Time (2011) by Gideon R — 23 Sep 2012
I don't know if it's because my wife and I were expecting this movie to suck, or to be a decent sci-fi flick, but I REALLY enjoyed this movie! I mean the the acting was nothing to remember, but the concept and story line was a fantastic analogy of the differences between the rich and poor.
It also felt "real" in the sense that if humans figured out how to genetically engineer immortality, the world would run out of resources for humanity unless they also figured out how to stop our hunger, need for sleep, etc. (which was not portrayed in the movie).
Justin Timberlake is funny, and he's not a bad actor, but if he is headlining the movie I think it's a little unfair to score it 36%... I mean were you expecting Christian Bale in another Christopher Nolan film? I guess it doesn't matter if the world loved it, my wife and I really enjoyed the movie and were pleasantly surprised to get a better movie than the trailers hinted at.
4/5 for me!
