Review of In the Mood for Love (2000) by Albert T — 20 Feb 2009
Powerful and evocative, this movie traces the highs and lows life, love, and the gamut of emotions. With Tony Leung and Maggie Cheung turning in one of their most exquisite performances on-screen, they were able to flip the mood switch with the merest of gestures, or the subtlest flicker of the eye.
Absolutely beautiful cinematography, achieving moments of mise-en-scene/mise-en-place in some shots, and a stirring soundtrack, all collaborated to help a visual artist at his peak create one of his greatest creation to date.
