Almost nothing actually "happens," but that doesn't matter, because you truly get to care about the characters. I mean, of course, since it stars Tony Leung and Maggie Chueng, the terrific acting is no surprise.
And the cinematography by Christopher Doyle is some of the best I have ever seen.
