Review of In the Mood for Love (2000) by Bojan P — 27 Nov 2010
Such a beautiful movie,a joy to see,....one of the most breathtaking love film ever made, from the first to the last frame,to the haunting Yumeji's theme by Shigeru Umebayashi. Maggie Cheung and Tony Leung are just perfect as the platonic lovers, and Wong Kar Wai,as always, take us on a visual and very emotional journey, with an awesome soundtrack that is a perfect companion to every word, every glance, every step the two main characters take! Only "Brief Encounter" by David Lean, comes close to it in beauty and elegance.
And the cinematography by Christopher Doyle is just stunning,a feast for the eyes! One of the greatest film in World Cinema!
