The thick of it is/was one of my favourite bbc 2 comedy's. When I heard of the movie I was almost creaming my pants. Now I have seen it, bravo!!! The added american cast and especially anna chumsky - not seen here since "my girl". Peter Capaldi is brilliant as always, talking down a us general for calling him english was a touch of class, especially the humbled looking face of gandofini during the scene was an excellent touch... Tom Hollander was a big surprise for me, as the sit on the fence type minister that keeps puting his foot in it,.
