Review of In Search of a Midnight Kiss (2007) by Matt D — 06 Oct 2008
Although overly crude at points this film on the whole is warm and charming presenting characters who at the outset seem cold but turn out to be insecure or nervous. This cast of unknown actors all give sparkling performances and the script in the most part is great.
Also brilliant is the cinematography taking in all the brilliant landscape and architecture of L.A. The ending with the friends singing Wind of Change was a stroke of genius and overall this was a romantic comedy without the cheese which evoked memories of the Richard Linklater Before series as well as early Kevin Smith in parts.
