Review of In Cold Blood (1967) by Jack W — 13 Apr 2010
Very impressive film for the era in which it was made. I really liked the choices Brooks made in alternating looks to the film, creating two different and disparate worlds. Adding to this was a great change of pace with the score.
Brooks just totally captured what Capote created. It was the editing though which I feel was done particularly well. Amazing quick cuts, heightening the tension particularly before the crime. I need to read the novel so that I can delve into what Capote was saying culturally and socially.
Next on my list to read!
