Review of In Bruges (2008) by Bobby S — 08 Dec 2011
An ultimately weird movie, it's also a very good movie. It centers around two London-based Irish hitmen on the run in the medieval Belgian town of Bruges. The dialogue differs so greatly from the subject at hand that it puts the viewer in an odd vice, as you know you shouldn't be laughing about what they've done, but what they're talking about and their antics on screen coax the laughs out anyways.
The finished product is a unique, insightful, entertaining and memorable piece of art. This is the movie that made me like Colin Farrell as an actor.
