Review of In Bruges (2008) by Steven S — 08 Mar 2012
It takes its time getting started, but once it does, it really works. Great casting, acting, and direction leads to a hilarious, sad, at times romantic, film with a real sense of connection with the main and supporting characters. Its sense of realism is a breath of fresh air, watching the characters get lost in the chase scenes, or act like a regular person would in the situations they're put in. And the sense of realism only helps the connection you get with the characters, instead of trying to relate to a robot who can get shot a hundred times and keep running for an hour.
In Bruges is one of my favorite comedies, dramas, and action movies.
