Review of In a Better World (2010) by Adler N — 14 Apr 2011
This is a well-woven story that delves into several "real" topics and proves to be a subtly powerful film. Its tempo is slow, but it successfully manages to address numerous "life" topics--and adequately develop those themes (unlike some recent movies, like Black Swan, that just touch on topics for sensational purposes).
William Johnk Nielsen, Markus Rygaard, Ulrich Thomsen (btw, he and Connie Nielsen are excellent in Brothers), Trine Dyrholm and Mikael Persbrandt give great performances. I lucked out and caught it at a theater that shows Indie films, but I definitely reco it for folks' Netflix and Redbox queues.
