Review of In a Better World (2010) by Steve W — 25 Apr 2011
A film with excellent performances and themes of revenge and violence. Anton is a doctor who faces a moral dilemma while in Africa, while his bullied son befriends an unstable young boy. Both stories intertwine and comment on human communication and family.
The African storyline with Anton is more interesting but is overshadowed by the other story. The result is a rich and character driven movie with lots to think about. Sometimes the message is overly heavy handed, but the result is a powerful and reflective film.
