Fantastic performances, even from the kids, an excellent score, and some beautiful cinematography. For two-thirds it's an emotionally intense, thought-provoking melodrama with something to say about morality.
But the third act drags on, wrapping everything up neatly and making you wish Bier was less heavy-handed with her films.
