Review of In a Bedroom (2012) by Daisy M — 30 Jun 2010
In the Bedroom featured a dramatically and interesting story. How a father and mother dealt with their son's love affair with an older woman, mother of 2 sons, not divorced and with the grief when that relationship results in their son's death.
Tom Wilkinson was truly great as the young man's father who looked for revenge, that lower him to the level of the killer.Sissy Spacek was also good, although her role lacked of depth in some parts.
I liked Marisa Tomei, as the young mother, she gave it all in this dramatic role. But her role was underdeveloped and she disappeared in the second half of the movie leaving a large gap in the development of her character.
In the Bedroom was a well-told story with great acting. A family tragedy well told and so real. Director Todd Field did a great job here.
