Review of Immortal (2004) by Fiona D — 04 Jan 2009
A very strange movie to say the least. I really sort of wish enki bilal had just chosen to go either full CG or human actors on top of CG, rather than mixing the two so seemingly haphazardly. I even watched the special features, in the hopes that someone would explain the reasoning behind the fact that everybody except the 2 main characters and the psychiatrist were animated.
Otherwise, it was pretty entertaining. I have a bit of a problem with the light tone everybody seems to be taking with the issue of rape, but I do understand the reasoning and the necessity to the story arc. I do think the actor got some of his eqyptian mythology wrong, but it was kind of a cool concept. I have to say though, I liked stargate (the movie!) better.
