Review of Imitation of Life (1959) by James H — 05 Jan 2010
It is quite melodramatic, but melodrama like this doesn't happen that often. Exquisitely produced, good performances, particularly Juanita Moore and Susan Kohner. It has a phoniness to it, but it's still a very enjoyable and entertaining film.
A real tearjerker. One of Lana Turner's best performances.
