Review of I'm Not There (2007) by Marco R — 29 Aug 2009
Very original idea to have 6 different aspects of Dylan's personality come out through 6 different actors. The best of the vignettes is London, 1965, with Cate Blanchette playing Dylan, where the style of the picture goes full Mod to match the time & place. In another, the recreation of the antagonizing crowd at the 1966 Dylan Goes Electric concert is tremendous. The effect of the 6 different stories leaves you less with a straight narrative than with an overall spirit of Dylan.
Watch this followed by the Pennebaker documentary "Don't Look Back" for a full Dylan experience.
