Review of I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK (2006) by Sanity Assassin ! — 26 Sep 2009
Really weird. park chan wooks films are generally either a hit or a miss. i'm so undecided about this one. it's strange and wonderful like oldboy, but it's also boringly odd at times like sympathy for mr vengeance. some parts are mesmerising, others are in need of an editor and a fine tooth comb!
Saying all that i've watched it again since and wasn't even pissed or tired! it's improved in my mind. falling asleep for 10 minutes halfway through never helps the plot... and trying to figure it out with a bottle of jager in you really is an impossibility. all I can say after this 2nd view is... IT WAS FUNNY! imaginative too... in the sense of tim burton with some random violence thrown in. always liked a bit of violence.
