Review of Ikiru (1952) by Kenneth L — 06 Jan 2009
Very sad, very moving. It's a fairly straightforward story, although I am not sure I like the way they decided to tell the story's last hour or son. Kurosawa's direction is simpler here than in his other movies I've seen.
Shimura's performance as Mr. Watanabe is great. I definitely teared up more than once during this movie.
