Review of Ikiru (1952) by Chris V — 18 Jul 2009

I was actually moved by this...i thought Shimura was excellent, his face was incredibly expressive...his character was so subdued but I was able to get these subtle feelings that were lurking underneath.

..i kept wanting him to burst out, but it just wouldnt happen...the first act laid a perfect foundation, the 2nd act was pretty heavy, and the third act kinda wavered for me from good to decent to beautiful.

..overall, I loved it.
