Review of Ikiru (1952) by Levi P — 03 Apr 2011
Truly effecting, poetic and exisential story of a man who, having been diagnosed with a terminal illness, seeks to do something meaningful with his miserable life. Again crafted with a magic wand by Kurosawa, but this time set in a modern and urban Japanese landscape.
Possibly one of his most personal films you would encounter and a wonderful insight to the man in a way...Ikiru means 'to live'.
